Hey folks! Saw this contest pop up and it looked really fun, I threw together a concept/inspiration board and started working on this late last week. There’s still a lot to figure out and I need to add in a bunch of Cyberpunk features and push the theme more but a lot of the basic stuff is in so I have more to play around with this weekend.
So this character is based off “The Morrigan” she’s a goddess that represents quite a few things in Celtic lore. Fertility, Desitny, Death, War. She’s a shape shifter who can change into a crow or an old crone. I’ll be using ravens on her in different spots.
She’s also represented as a trio of individuals, Babd, Macha, and the Morrigan. I’ll be using some jewelry to represent her 3 forms
I want the final piece to be pretty but it will also be pretty gritty, with dark make up, some weird cybernetic implants. I really hope I can finish this in time, gonna try to sprint on it as much as I can. I need to concept on top of this image to day and break up forms and play with some forms.
WIP below! I’ll post more frequently now that I have her base done.
Got some time to keep working on this piece this week, I’m still figuring out how to tie more of the theme into it, building out some parts that I can incorporate some classic celtic themes alongside the cyberpunk motif.
Almost done blocking out all her clothes which took some time, I think it’ll speed up from here as I work on her face and hair. (I hope?)
Definitely need to tackle these swords and boots when I feel like doing some hard surface stuff, rather do it sooner than later.

Hey folks!
I’m struggling to keep up right now, I’m actually prepping to move in about a week so I’m sneaking in time to work, it’s not where I want it right now and I hope to sneak in a few more long sessions before I take off.
I worked on medium shapes in the pants, boots, jacket. Worked on her implants more and I think next I’ll work on her portrait a bit and then finish her clothes, the flow isn’t perfect yet and I can find some better shape language here and there I think.
Anyways, here’s some renders of her from this morning! Cheers and good luck on your characters!

Hey there folks, missed out on over a week because of a huge move I had planned that included 5 days of driving and lots and lots of moving of things. Anyways, gonna try to finish up this piece before the contest is up. Here’s a quick update on where she’s at!
Got back to work on her yesterday, whipped up her gloves, adjusted her hair, tweaked her jacket and some clothing proportions as well. Few more days on the sculpt before I get onto retop.
Things to do next:
Weapons, Adjust her arms (they are too thin), Portrait and her hair. add in more small details before I bake her textures.

Hey folks, so today I whipped up a sword my character, inspired by some celtic iconography and shapes with some futuristic twists. Gonna get going on a quick sheath for her back and get going on other things and finish up this sculpt.
Need to get onto retopology by Sunday and it’s still gonna be insanely tight to finish this so I’m gonna really have to start just making gut decisions and moving on. Good luck everyone!

So it’s definitely crunch week, been organizing things for retop today, I sculpted out her hair that I’m gonna rely on some anisotropic reflections on to make it look like hair once I bake it down. Overwatch style kind of so here’s a quick shot of that.
I built out her sword harness on the back, super simple I don’t think we’ll see it without the sheath on her back so it’s just something easy to retopologize tomorrow/wednesday.
I knocked out a quick sheath for her sword as well, just a flexible-ish leather-like material and some metal bits for some variation in the roughness/metalness once it’s textured. Again I’m keeping things simple for retopology because this project has gotten away from me because of my move ![]()

Well I’m working in a huge hurry right now, the days I lost are really coming back to haunt me! I frantically retopped and uv’d and set this up to bake today, posting my first bake results here. She’ll be sitting at around 50k tris when I mirror things.

Quick WIP as I’m texturing this model as quickly as I can, layering in secondary details, some roughness and height variation and eventually some blood and mud to rough her up. I think I’ll finish these tomorrow morning and I’ll get onto posing her.
