Myths Reimagined - Ahuizotl

Hello guys!

First time participating in a challenge on here. I’ve decided to go for a creature in Ancient Aztec Mythology called the Ahuizotl. It is supposed to be a dog-like water creature that has a long tail with a hand on the tip of it, and long spiky black fur. It lurks at bottom of lakes and other bodies of water hunting for humans who get too close. It then grabs it’s victim with it’s tail hand and drags them to the bottom of the lake to their watery grave.

I’ve made a rough sketch of what the original myth is supposed to be to use as a base, as I am still trying to decide if I’m going to go full mechanical, or organic with mechanical enhancements.

This is one of my favorite myths from Aztec folklore, so I think I’m really going to have fun with this one.
