Myths Reimagined-El Silbón (The Whistler)

El Silbón (The Whistler) is a legendary figure in Venezuela, associated especially with Los Llanos region, usually described as a lost soul. The legend arose in the middle of the 19th century..

This dude is just plain creepy, I will update him by giving him cybernetic arms and legs. I will give him a look and feel like the Mean Angel from Judge Dreed the 1995 movie.

Wip # 5, I just have to figure out his lower cybernetic legs, and lengthen them a bit more as in the legend he has over exaggerated limbs. Once that is figure out I will change his snack into cool canaster that you can see the bones of his father.

Adjusted some proportions to make him a bit more lanky like in the legend, as well as modeled up the canister that cares the bones of his victims. Just the legs left to block out then can get into detailing passes.

Everything is blocked out finally and can start having some fun detailing him up for a bit. I still might exaggerate his limbs more like in the myth we will see.

El Sibon is all blocked out and time for detailing this week. The legend has him with super abnormal long arms and legs so I made them a bit longer again.

Building the game mesh today. A bit more to tweaking and adjusting left to do.

Final Game mesh, just over 140 k polys. Can start the detailing back in Zbrush to finish off the high res now.

Been a busy week but had some time tonight to start laying out the UV’s. Still a lot left to do.

All of El Silbon UVs are finished. I have a bit of room to add some geo in a few spots to smooth them out but other then that he is ready for some detailing passes back in Zbrush. Hopefully i can get my bakes done over the weekend.

I can start having a bit of fun with all the time consuming stuff behind me like the block out and UV’s. Still a lot to do with the skin before i move on to the metal bits.

Busy week had time to get a pose started, will get him finished up with a detailing pass tomorrow hopefully then off to painter.

Pretty much everything is in and UV’ed just have to detail the can and lantern then final can get him into painter.

95 Percent of the grunt work is done just one last detailing pass tomorrow then can get into painter for some fun and start bring him to life. The skulls will be inside the container. Poly count is down to the wire with the final count for all the geo is 149634.

We made it into Painter finally. Just bit of map clean up to do then can go to town for a few days with the textures. Gives me a week to finish him off before dead line.
