Woo this is looking amazing!!
love the pose, textures are coming together so nicelyyyy, and the collar idea on the cat to match the arm!!
I also agree with Joanna on the above that its a little bit hard to read the face area on the cat right now though, would love to see some more of the cool skull/bone details you created! Maybe it needs a little bit of gradient/some fall off on the hologram effect so its not so intense up near the face, the contrast in values also might make the collar pop a bit more too
The glitchy effect and background you have going is looking super btw!!
If you happen to be looking for any more ideas for backgrounds, here are some ref’s i found that’s hopefully helpful!
I havnt played the games in foreverrrrr so had to have another look over some of their intro cutscenes again to refresh my memory, and in doing that i noticed they use a lot of really cool dynamic angles overlayed with typography and bold background grunge patterns to intro you to the characters, might be fitting usecase here for your character too (especially if you have a name in mind for them)!

If they’re meant to be a baddies too, then a wanted poster in the background like this cosplay could also suit really well with this type of shot angle/pose you have!

Thanks @JoannaHinc0Art and I completely agree, the cat was losing detail in the face. I made some edits to the low poly and updated the wireframe texture with some painted edits too. I have the texture mirrored now so I have a little more texel density which has helped a bit already with the resolution of the wireframe.
Thanks too @UnsaltedPeanut - I might still add a falloff around the face but I’ll come back to that soon.
Thank you for the background refs, but for the actual contest, I don’t have time to do much more than these little squares. Maybe if i spend more time on it later I might look at something more interesting like these references
And now I really need to knuckle down at get back to these textures!

Reminder that there are only 5 days left of the challenge
Remember to post your final results here before the deadline is up: Myths Reimagined - Real-Time Game Character: Final Submissions
Thank you for the reminder @emiliestabell. I think I’m pretty much done with textures. I’ve made some edits to the pose and lighting so will spend the next couple of days fine tuning. I need to pack the textures with some updated opacity maps and pull together some breakdown shots for the submission.
Just to add, everything is textured at 4k but exported out at 2k to stay within the budget.
This is the setup in maya with the ‘outline’ mesh a separate entity I’m still under the 150k
And here’s where my renders are at
Sunday will be a busy day, so need to get this done by Saturday - I think we’re good… but I have a habit of making last minute changes

OK, pretty much ready to wrap this up. Need to make some tweaks to the turnaround renders but otherwise I think I’m good. Next post will be to the final submissions thread. Just gonna leave this here - a random render I took that I thought looked pretty cool
