Hello everyone,
First time participating in any challenge, so i’m really excited!
Here’s the story behind the character:
My story is related to the Celtic festival of Samhain and one of its main symbols, the pomegranate. According to belief, this fruit is connected to the underworld: Persephone ate pomegranate seeds and thus became the queen of the underworld in the realm of Hades, lord of the dead.
In my story, the devil sends a servant
up on Samhain night to collect souls for him. This creature will be my character of choice.
Whoever accepts the pomegranate from him and eats it sells his soul.
The character will be wearing a typical Samhain mask and outfit to blend in with the costumed crowd.
Thank you, and good luck to evereyone!
Cheers
So here’s the basket, it’s going to be full of pomegranates. I made the base of the wicker basket with maya and the rest with zbrush. Texturing made with Substance Painter.

Hands are getting better:)
Azázél got some bells, chains, belts and a headscarf. My main inspiration is from the the oldest folk festivals of Sardinia, the Carnival of Mamoiada. The mamuthones are men whose faces are covered by a black mask with rough, disquieting features, dressed in dark sheepskins, with a large bundle of bells on their backs and a smaller bundle of bronze bells attached at the front. It’s basically a pagan exorcism.
The original plan was for the creature to wear a traditional mask, but I really like his face so I don’t know what to do now :D… So let’s get some sleep and I’ll try to figure it out tomorrow!
